GAME ONE the third day

THE VOTING WAS A TIE. A COIN HAS BEEN FLIPPED TO DECIDE THE OUTCOME. SAENOKI NAHO HAS BEEN OUSTED BY THE GROUP.

After the voting has been completed, the Director chuckles and begins to slowly clap, eager to mock the remaining players.

"Congratulations, you've managed to eliminate two players this evening," she laughs. "Saenoki Naho was one half of the Lovers. Kumiko Oumae is the other half of the pairing. Such a strange rule, isn't it? A folie à deux! Regardless, they have now both been eliminated thanks solely to your own shared folly.

"The wolves have already made their decision. Billy the Kid has been eliminated from play. For tonight's voting, I would like you to pick one of the following groups -- the most popular one will have its members split and put to the ousting vote. At least one wolf is in each group.

[A minute or so later he pulls the stick out of his mouth, sighs, and flicks it into the nearest garbage can. A reach into his pocket later has another sucker shoved into his mouth.]

I'm gonna run out at this rate, even if it ends as quickly as I'm betting it's gonna.

[That's said loud enough for anyone to overhear, but he sure isn't approaching anybody yet.]

[He shrugs. He runs a business; he knows bad numbers when he sees them. But he glances at her again and decides he might as well explain.]

Unless the bitch is lying there's four wolves. Two people are gonna get dusted a night, and one of 'em is guaranteed to be a sheep. Sheep make a wrong choice of who to kick out more than once and they're pretty much screwed because then there won't be enough sheep to stay above four, even if they do get a wolf every vote after. Don't think the bitch'll end the game right at that point 'cause she seems to like us suffering, but...

[Another shrug.]

This 'vet' role might be enough to turn the tables, but only if the wolves get unlucky in picking who to put a hit on, or the sheep decide to kick 'em out.

[No, he can't imagine the vet choosing to protect anyone but themselves.]

Wow, you really thought it through. Is being here really that bad, though? Uncomfy beds aside.

My son depends on me to be there for him. He's probably worried sick already. If not for that I wouldn't give a damn but as it is, the quicker this ends the better.
