GAME ONE the first day The elevator doors slide open with a gentle ping, and inexplicably, you find yourself inside a bar overlooking an impossible city view. Depending on your constitution, you may feel your knees begin to buckle, and fortunately several plush chairs are ready to accommodate both drunkards and weary travelers alike. Waist-high tables stocked with water and high-caliber champagne are dotted across the bar's lounge -- perhaps you will help yourself to some refreshments? Small alcoves flow off the main interior of the lounge, leading to seventeen tiny, tiny rooms with an uncomfortable (but nice looking) cot for each person still in play. The rooms even have each player's name etched above them in delicate cursive, signaling who belongs where. if you feel like investigating your room, you may decide that its interior leaves much to be desired. But most importantly, as you enter the lounge, a thin blond woman, who would perhaps be quite beautiful if it weren't for the permanent grimace across her face, will hand you a thick sheet of card stock with the game's rules stamped across it in gold foil. "You have until this evening to cast your first suspicions," she says to you, her clipped tone markedly unpleasant. "The wolves will meet in secret, of course, and the veterinarian may leave their protection anonymously. The last special role in play, the lovers, are encouraged to keep their circumstances secret." GAME ONE the second day? To watch the Director cross the room is akin to viewing a queen manuevering through her court -- shoulders pinned back, head held high, not a single strand of hair daring to become misplaced. Her heels click clack as she walks to the champagne bucket that holds your motely group''s collection of painfully underinformed suspicions, and with a thoughtful glance at the assembled crowd, she taps the side of the bucket. "This doesn't seem very fair, does it?" Not that this woman would know the meaning of the word, but she digresses. "You are all terribly new to this game, or perhaps out of practice. To vote against your peers with so little information to guide you, well. That should be rectified. Yes, I think that I'll shake the formula for the game -- not to the point of becoming recognizable, but just to provide an extension. "We will be delaying the ousting process until tomorrow night. In its stead, I would like you to discuss amongst yourselves the following players: Noah, Margaret, Rin, Siana, Mako, Magilou, Naho, and Vern. In this list, there is one wolf or more waiting to be discovered as well as one half of the Lovers." She claps her hands together. Truly, the Director is a paragon of virtue. There will be no ousting or slaughter tonight. You will have until July 15th, 8PM EST to decide between the above players. The two players with the highest votes will be put on the chopping block from 8PM to 9PM, followed by the wolves making their first kill. Let's stretch these first few days and really bond.
